AMBER KINGSNORTH- Wednesday, May 25th, 7pm until 8:30pm
Amber has over a decade of design and project management experience spanning a wide range of projects from corporate offices to hotels, retail stores to private homes. A passionately curious person, a risk taker, and natural problem solver, Amber believes design is where right brain and left brain come together in a flurry of creativity and structure. Perfect! She is a strong advocate for an open and honest design community and puts her money where her mouth is when it comes to making change happen. She is also the founder of Designer Happy Hour, a monthly gathering of creatives in unique venues around the city of Vancouver.

What are three things (practical advice or tips) that you are going to share with us at THRIVE TALKS?
- The Interior Designer’s approach to art
- The importance of community
- Connecting with Designers
Share a weird fact about yourself.
I once drove a truck through the garage door of a gas station. True story.
Share a favourite quote that keeps you motivated or inspired.
‘Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing’ – Ron Swanson
What was your first job?
Auto-parts delivery driver (see ‘weird fact about me’) … shockingly I was not fired.
Can you share your opinion on the importance of art in interiors:
Furniture, storage, lighting etc. are all restricted by the confines of functionality and practicality but art gives you total freedom to take risks and set the feeling of space in a totally different dimension. Art tells a story which is a huge part of making interior spaces personal and unique.
